Take Home Binder and Student Planner: Please check this binder and planner daily and return it to school each morning. It may contain important announcements, or completed work. You may also use the student planner as a way to communicate with me and track classroom behavior.

Our lunch/recess is at 12:15-12:50.  If you are planning to eat with your child please sign in at the office first. You can meet your child at the entrance to the cafeteria.

Water Bottles: Water is always encouraged and allowed at the student’s desk.  Please make sure it is in a bottle with a straw or lid that closes. No juice or flavored/sugary drinks please!

Snack: To help the students stay alert and focused, we encourage parents to pack a small snack (separate from lunch). Students are able to eat their when they are hungry, but this occurs while working in the space they have chosen to sit for the day. Please make sure their snack is in a package they can open independently and eat within 5 minutes. No fruit cups, sugary sweets, or yogurt please.

Toys: Please do not send any toys to school.

Birthdays: On your child’s birthday, you are more than welcome to send a snack they can share with the class!  Be aware that some students may have allergies. Please notify me a minimum of 24 hours in advance if you plan to bring in a treat. This will help me plan ahead and incorporate the birthday treat into our schedule.  Please, no balloons, whole cakes, or gifts. Treats will usually be served during lunch.

Homework: Reading every night is a key part of our homework. It is encouraged that your child read each night, at least 10 minutes, to ensure that they are reading on grade level or higher by the end of the year.  Different ways to read are: listening to reading (you read to them), reading to self, and reading to someone.
