What We Are Learning Now

Math
For our seventh math unit, students will first begin by studying data analysis. Students will review and learn about five types of graphs: frequency tables, bar graphs, stem-and-leaf plots, dot plots, and scatterplots. Then, students will study personal financial literacy. They will learn about creating and managing budgets, different types of taxes, and the difference between gross and net income. They will also learn about the advantages and disadvantages of different types of payment methods. This unit will have three quizzes and one unit assessment.
 
Science
For our fifth science unit, we will be learning about Earth and Space. Students will first start by reviewing the water cycle. Next, they will study weather and climate. Next, we will learn about how the moon, Earth, and Sun interact by studying rotation and revolution. After that, we will study moon phases and the planets. We will finish up this unit by comparing the Earth, moon, and Sun. This unit will have four quizzes and one unit assessment.
 
Social Studies
For our seventh social studies unit, the students will dive into the 20th century. They will learn about the movement westward and immigration. They will also learn about the fight for women's rights. Finally, they will study World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II.
